Dealing with Difficult People

Some difficult people truly have a valid cause or complaint. The problem is with their timing, their intensity or their methods. Any of these can create such ill-will that no one bothers to listen to the actual root of the complaint. Without good social or communication skills (on either side), the problem festers and rots.
